Meditation and mindfulness training have become popular and entered the general vocabulary of our society.  While this is a very good development, these practices are often considered to be only connected with the mind.  But meditation also works with the heart.   In this gathering we will address how meditation practice opens one's heart, connects with compassion and vulnerability and how meditation practice concerns our whole being, not just our mind.  We will discuss how meditation practice can cultivate compassion, gentleness and skillfulness and how we can apply these qualities to our daily lives. We will also discuss how our own actions affect the larger picture in a troubled world.

The dharma gathering includes meditation instruction, group meditation practice, a talk, discussion and refreshments.

We request a $5 donation on-site.  All proceeds are shared equally between Miami Shambhala and Unity on the Bay.
